  1. Our prayers and deepest sympathies are extended to the entire Barros family and to his Court family as well, and Chance will be remembered in a special way in our prayers and Masses.

  2. On behalf of the Bronx County Bar Association, I would like to extend our condolences to the Barros Family. Chance was a well known and loved court officer in the Bronx Courthouse. His smile, his bright and cheery welcome to any attorney who entered the courtroom made our Courts a better place to be. The Bronx Courthouse is a family and Chance was a big part of that family. He will be missed but not forgotten. Our prayers are with the Barros family.

    • I did not know Chance but did know his dad for many years as an SCO in the Bronx Supreme Court. I am sure that Chance was as great a person as his dad and mom. It is so sad when good people pass so young. May GOD give your family, dad, mom, wife and young son the strength to carry on the love of a beautiful family. Peace be with you, brother in blue.

  4. Our condolences and our hearts go out to the entire Barros family. We are greatly saddened, shocked and heartbroken to hear of this news. We knew Chance and his family from his little and senior league baseball days. He was a model student of the game with strong family values and great respect for others, a true gentleman to say the least. He will be surely missed by many. R.I.P. My friend and God bless the entire Barros family. All our love and sympathy, Frank Loglio & family.

  6. Chance was a genuinely kind person who always had a smile on his face and a laugh to share in a place where those qualities are in short supply. He will be dearly missed. I wish to extend my sympathies to his family, loved ones, and colleagues.

  7. R.I.P brother, you will be missed….

  8. WOW WOW!!!!! My friend, my brother, and most of all a great man!! My heart goes out to Barros family and your brother. You represented a great family from The South Bronx at a time when poverty and drugs took over. From our days in St. Athanasius you showed greatness in the class as well outside the classroom. At Mount Saint Michael you shined and blossomed into an amazing young man.

I wish I could just type on here for days speaking on how you always had a great smile, a warm hug, and strong hand shake every time we would cross paths and it never mattered how much time passed, we always greeted one another as though we never left the block.

I went into NYSDOCS and you became Court Officer and I was proud. You were proud and it was great. I will miss you Chance with all my heart not because of all the accomplishments and not because you were a great athletes but because of who you were to my sister’s and me no matter who was around. Just Chance that kid from the bottom of Barreto st in the private house who had amazing loving parents who would drive him and his brothers to the end of the world to play any sport they wanted.
