Reminder: All requests for the FOP/VIP seating areas for the May 15th National Peace Officers Memorial Service must be e-mailed to me absolutely no later than Monday, April 15th. Requests received after this date will not be accepted.
All attendees are hereby advised that the following will be strictly adhered to….
Only police officers, sworn personnel, FOP members and retired officers will be allowed on the center lawn seating sections of the Capitol. Anyone without a law enforcement ID or credential, or someone who is attending from the general public, will be kept on the outside lawn panels of the Capitol.
Due to a record number of officers being honored and the attendance of the anticipated keynote speaker, the usual FOP/VIP seating areas will be greatly reduced and the program itself will be running longer than in past years.
I highly suggest that you allow yourself plenty of extra time to: travel to, gain access to, clear security, not interfere with survivor arrival, and check-in to the “FOP/VIP” mini white tent (which has long lines).
In order to accomplish this, you should plan to arrive on the Capitol grounds no later than 0830 hrs.
Remember, only pre-submitted names will have access to the seating areas, so be mindful of the April 15th deadline.
There are three different, color-coded seating areas, and we will be adhering to strict seating protocols for each of those areas.
The Memorial Service is to honor our fallen and show support to their family members in attendance.
If you are seated in any of the FOP/VIP seating areas, it is requested that you remain for the entire service, stay professional and respectful at all times and wear appropriate attire such as Class A uniform, business suit or collared shirt with dark long pants
